Frequently Asked Questions

If you do not find your question answered below, don't hesitate to contact me. I'll answer as quickly as I can.

1. When I order something, how is it shipped?

Each piece of artwork/item that is ordered is shipped directly from me. I pack it with a certificate of authenticity (if an original) and put it it in one of two things. If it is small like a 9x12 or so, it goes into a padded evelope with a couple of layers of cardboard backing. If it is one of the larger sizes, like a 22x30, I use a thick cardboard tube. Each drawing is sealed with fixative to ensure that no smudging or damage happens in the shipping process. I have found this to be the best way for items to be shipped and leaves the freedom of the buyer to frame the artwork as they like.

2. How long can I expect to recieve my item(s) after placing an order?

Please allow 3-4 weeks for shipping. I do my best to make it quicker, but sometimes it doesn't happen.

3. How long do you like to usually have for a commission?

My favorite time frame is as much as I like. That is not really reasonable for most people, so I prefer about 3 months. Now that I do artwork full time, a month is enough time to do a really nice piece. I just like the extra time that allows for changes to take place as a piece of art evolves.

4. Hey, you draw really well, you ever thought about being an artist?

That's a novel concept. I'll try it out.

5. How does the commission process work?

First, we usually meet up (if you're in the same area as I am) or you send me an email about your idea. We exchange ideas as I try to get your vision in my head. After that, I draw up some very rough sketches to make sure I'm heading in the right direction. When that is decided, I draw the final base drawing. That is the time to make any final changes and really get the piece where you want it. After the final base drawing is approved, we sign a contract and I take a deposit, usually half the commission price. I then take the piece and make the final version. When I deliver the final version on time, the other half of the price is due. Voila!
