This drawing isn't as full of symbols as others I've done tend to be. I wanted to make a beautiful piece, but also have an element of 'huh?' to it. While I usually have flowers in everything, I decided to add some fruit. The strawberries were supposed to be bleeding at first, to add a rather macabre feature to it and give more reason to the title and the feeling I wanted to portray. I wanted to show that things that are beautiful, also have a bit of a dark side to them, such as the woman whom I used as a model for this piece.
