At 23 years old, Maria was diagnosed with leukemia. A malicious cancer, it took away a lot of time and her livelihood. She is currently in remission, but only time can tell what will happen to this beautiful woman.

The imagery is simple for this piece. Lilies are her favorite flowers, as are orange and yellow her favorite colors. They represent the life she still has and her indomnitable will to survive. The other lilies, dying off, is the cancer. She holds an hourglass for she knows not when her time on this earth may come to an end.
